English-speaking therapy in Valencia and online across Spain

Are you looking for therapy in English in Valencia or online from anywhere in Spain? I’m Lydia Gómez, a bilingual counsellor with over 10 years of experience offering therapy in English, French, and Spanish.

If speaking in English feels more natural or emotionally comfortable for you —whether it’s your first language or just the one you connect best with—, this is a safe and welcoming space for you.

I work from an integrative, person-centred approach, combining tools that best fit your needs. Here are some of the English-language therapy services I offer:

  • Individual counselling for adults: anxiety, self-esteem, emotional blocks, life transitions.
  • Therapy for teenagers (12+): often including family systems work when needed.
  • Couples therapy in English: communication, conflict, intimacy, separation.
  • Trauma-informed therapy: for symptoms resulting from difficult or overwhelming experiences.
  • Grief counselling: emotional support during loss, breakups, or major changes.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), rooted in mindfulness.
  • Time Line Therapy® and NLP: for healing past patterns, fears, and limiting beliefs.
  • Clinical hypnotherapy: working with the unconscious mind in a safe, guided way.

I offer English-speaking therapy in person in Valencia and online therapy across Spain. If you’re looking for a therapist who speaks English and works with empathy and authenticity, I’d be honoured to support you.

🌿 About Lydia Gómez

For 18 years, I worked as an industrial engineer, specialising in sustainability and international cooperation. My goal was to protect the environment, which included designing sustainable buildings, developing regional climate change strategies, and coordinating action plans for various communities and municipalities. I led international projects and managed teams in multinational companies.

Eventually, I chose to lead by example and left behind a successful engineering career to follow my heart. I know firsthand what it means to step out of your shell and leave your comfort zone. I would even say that Time Line Therapy® transformed my life. It helped me face my fears, release ego-driven limitations, and pursue my true purpose.

I trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnotherapy, and completed a two-year Master’s in Counselling in Melbourne, Australia. Since then, I’ve been working as a counsellor offering therapy in English, French, and Spanish, for adults, adolescents (from age 12), and couples.

When working with young people, I often use a systemic approach, involving the family where appropriate. I also work with couples in both therapy and mediation processes.

I identify as a person-centred therapist, aligned with Carl Rogers’ three core conditions for therapeutic change: unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and empathy. I believe these are essential for a safe, respectful, and transformative therapeutic relationship.

I have experience in:

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Grief counselling

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a mindfulness-based approach

One of my strengths is my deep ability to listen and connect with both adults and adolescents in a genuine, compassionate way.
